My best friend, in all ways but blood my only brother, died of cancer. It came on so fast and unexpectedly that by the time the doctors had realized what it was, it was too late.
Unless you've been through something similar, you can't fathom how bad it fucked me up. That's as real as it gets.
It is so prevalent that it seems everybody's lives have or will be devastated by the loss of somebody close to them due to some form of cancer. Awareness, meaning early detection and prevention, is the best way to fight it. Please donate to any of the charities dedicated towards finding cures to all forms of cancer. There are other charities that need your help in easing the burden of families who find themselves trying to cope with the financial and emotional crisis that cancer creates. Your thoughts, prayers and donations are sometimes the only thing cancer victims as well as the families who love and rely upon them have.
Rest in peace, Pat. Rest in peace, Fat Mike. These words are shit compared to what y'all deserved, but there they are.
Show your support to Pat
and take care of yourselves. I don't ever want to have to write something like this again and I never want to go to another funeral to bury somebody whose life might have been spared if enough people had given their support for cancer treatment research.
Fuck you, cancer. Your obliteration is INEVITABLE.
